On the occasion of the Year of the Forest, because of the 125th anniversary of Staatsbosbeheer, forest rangers have set out special 'From tree to forest' walks throughout the country. This is also the case on Terschelling. Because there is an extensive walking route network on Terschelling, use was made of the existing green route at the 'Formerumer bos and Wilhelminapolder', which starts at the Natuurschuur in Lies. The route 'Formerumer bos and Wilhelminapolder', now also the 'From tree to forest route' takes you through the most varied forest on Terschelling.
