Mixed Choir Sursum Corda Concludes Anniversary Year with 'Songs of Peace and Reconciliation'
On May 5th, mixed choir Sursum Corda Terschelling will conclude its 125th anniversary year with a special performance. Fittingly for Liberation Day (80 years), the concert will be dedicated to Songs of Peace and Reconciliation.
The songs reflect the atmosphere of these significant May days: memories of war and loss, but also hope for peace, reconciliation, and a new beginning — with love for the world around us. It also offers the choir a wonderful opportunity to finally perform pieces built up during the corona period, including some well-known selections from West Side Story.
Following earlier concerts like Songs of the Coast (summer 2024), Advent with Roon Staal (December), and Spirituals (March), Sursum Corda hopes to conclude its anniversary year in a festive and moving way with this program.
The choir will perform under the direction of Ralph Weber, who will also play the guitar. We are also looking forward to collaborating with Danielle and Dick de Graaff on flute, violin, and piano.
